    Google Maps launched a new function for Android devices and desktop computers called Your Timeline. With this function you will be able to see the places where you have been.

    When they launched it, Google pointed out that the information on your timeline is private and that only you will be able to see it. Also, you have to approve the function before it activates. Simply go to your location history on your Google account.

    If you do not want Google to follow you, then you can proceed to disable the function:

    On the computer: On the desktop version, you have to go to your Google account and then go to My Account. Now, click on Peronal info & Privacy and go down until you find the section Places you go. You will see a button, disable it and that’s it.

    On Android: On Android devices, go to Settings > General and choose Google on My accounts. Then, click on location, then Privacy and finally Google Location history on Location Services. Finally, click on the box to disable the location history.
