Peru’s natural protected areas — such as rainforest area’s Pacaya Samiria (Loreto region) and coastal city of Paracas (Ica region) — draw a special interest on the luxury tourism industry, National Chamber of Tourism Chairman Jorge Jochamowitz informed.

An increased demand was recorded due to information on the sites spread worldwide. It matches foreign visitors’ interest in nature and history destinations.

“Luxury tourism is one of the fastest growing and developing sectors […],” the Canatur Chairman underlined.

“We witness this [expansion] in Loreto thanks to luxury cruises visiting reserves such as Pacaya Samiria every day,” he added.

Given that a strong demand is to be seen, a cruise reservation must be made several months in advance.

Paracas National Reserve is also one of the favorite places where luxury tourism activities are carried out thanks to new hotels and infrastructure projects executed with the purpose of providing quality services to most demanding tourists.

“Tourism centers featuring first-class infrastructure can be found […]. Moreover, Paracas is becoming an international event hosting city […],” Jochamowitz highlighted.

    Other attractions

Among destinations also considered as “extremely attractive” are Machu Picchu Archeological Park (Cusco region) and Manu National Park (Madre de Dios region).

Manu National Park also offers a huge potential, he noted.
