The Grand Budapest Hotel y The Theory of Everything se convirtieron en las grandes favoritas de los premios Bafta al conseguir 11 y 10 candidaturas, respectivamente.

La Academia Británica de las Artes Cinematográficas y de la Televisión (Bafta) dio a conocer este viernes la lista de candidatos a estos prestigiosos premios, considerados la antesala de los Óscar. Los Bafta serán entregados el próximo 8 de febrero en Londres.

Además de The Grand Budapest Hotel y The Theory of Everything, Birdman, Boyhood y The Imitation Game también compiten por la estatuilla a la major película.

Entre los aspirantes a mejor director figuran Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman), Richard Linklater (Boyhood), Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), James Marsh (The Theory of Everything) y Damien Chazelle (Whiplash).

En tanto, Benedict Cumberbatch es el gran favorito para llevarse el premio al mejor actor por su papel de Alan Turing en The Imitation Game, pero tendrá que vencer a Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), Jake Gyllenhaall (Nightcrawler), Michael Keaton (Birdman) y Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel).

En la categoría de mejor actriz, Julianne Moore (Still Alice) y Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) son las grandes candidatas, pero al premio también aspiran Amy Adams (Big Eyes), Reese Witherspoon (Wild) y Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl).
